Procedure

If you are planning a PhD project that is thematically related to one of the research foci of the SwissGradNet partners, please contact the coordinator for further information.

Eligibility

SwissGradNet is dedicated to foster PhD candidates who meet the formal requirements and who would like to undertake a use-inspired research project in the fields of Design, Film and Art, within the scope the thematic research fields of its partner institutions.
The respective doctoral degree regulations of the international partner universities will determine admission to the doctoral studies. The doctoral board of the partner university in question will decide in collaboration with the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences on which applications will be accepted.

 

To be supported by SwissGradNet, PhD candidates must:

  • demonstrate a proven interest in one of the research foci of the partner universities.
  • hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in one of the defined research fields of the partner institutions, in compliance with local regulations at the university in question.
  • have a high language competency in English according to the language requirements of the respective international partner university and the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences.
  • possess a basic command of at least one of the four Swiss national languages.

 

The form of employment, funding and supervision are to be negotiated with both of the institutional partners.
However, alternative forms of collaboration are possible and must be negotiated directly with the respective institutions.
